Samsung x RACV SmartThings Starter Kit Launch

In December 2018, RACV and Samsung Electronics Australia announced a partnership that brought the Samsung SmartThings platform exclusively to customers in Victoria for the first time.

To activate the partnership launch, RACV developed a sensory experience designed to excite press and pave the way for the future of Smart Home at RACV.

Taking place at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the launch event was held in the venue’s new exhibition bays.

A select number of media were invited to touch and test the technology for themselves, so they could better understand the ways SmartThings can simplify and enhance life in the home.

The event provided a visually rich and fully immersive experience for press through the integration of the connected RACV Tiny Home, the Smart Home Starter Kits and demo vignettes that filled the space.

MCEC’s event planning and technology teams worked with RACV to coordinate the logistics of loading the Tiny Home into the Exhibition Bay with direct access provided from the loading dock. The RACV Tiny Home and smart devices were powered from solar panels on the roof of the home with additional lighting added onto pre-installed rigging to enrich the experience.

The RACV Samsung partnership launch successfully introduced SmartThings to Australian tech and consumer media, helping RACV to foster brand connection and establish RACV in the Smart Home space.
