International Women's Day 2018

At Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre we strive to encourage an environment that supports the development of employees, with a continuous focus on enabling individuals to fulfil their potential within our business. Our People and Culture team have developed an initiative to identify and develop our high potential employees known as the High Potential Process ‘HiPo’.

Today eight of our High Potential employees’ will attend the IPAA Victoria’s International Women’s Day dinner, to celebrate the contribution that women make to the public sector in Victoria.

In addition, on Friday 16 March, MCEC is hosting a panel conversation for HiPo particpants, in support of International Women’s Day. The panel will explore a range of topics covering women in leadership and IWD’S 2018 theme: #pressforprogress. The panellists include: Executive Director, Solterbeck and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust member, Marie Jackson; Executive Director, Corporate Services - Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic), Susan Middleditch and CEO, Cricket Australia and Male Champion of Change (Sport), James Sutherland.

Reservations Executive, Natalie Hesketh said being involved in the HiPo program has allowed her to develop a range of skills and strengthen her leadership capabilities.

“The International Women’s Day events are a great example of MCEC’s ongoing commitment to grow and develop talent and foster inclusivity.”
