THE LUME Melbourne
Mon 26 June - Sun 4 February, 10:00am - 6:30pm
The most comprehensive telling of our country’s story through art, Connection brings together First Peoples’ art, music and culture in a breathtaking experience. Opening on the 23rd of June at THE LUME Melbourne, Connection features over 550 artworks from more than 110 visual and musical artists, representing the largest experience of First Peoples’ art ever assembled. Developed in curatorial collaboration with the National Museum of Australia and experts like Margo Neale, Rhoda Roberts AO, A. Professor Wayne Quilliam and Adam Knight, Connection is a ground-breaking showcase that fuses the world’s oldest culture with the most cutting-edge technology. Spanning 3,000 square metres of immersive gallery space, with projections four storeys high, visitors are invited to step inside the works of Australia’s most celebrated established and emerging First Nations artists. The works of Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Tommy Watson, Sarrita King, Kate Constantine and more come to life through an emotional soundtrack of First Peoples artists. Presented through the lenses of Land, Water and Sky Country, Connection maps the songlines that hold First Peoples’ diverse stories in a celebration of culture that every Australian can be proud of. Opening and closing times are subject to regular changes. Please check the ticketing website on the date you wish to attend.
