The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust (MCET) is an agency for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and is therefore subject to the Act. Freedom of Information (FOI) arrangements followed by the Trust are in accordance with procedures established under the Act. Within MCET, the Chief Executive has the authority as Principal Officer to make decisions regarding FOI requests.

Our statement

Under the FOI Act, you have the right to request access to documents held by MCET.

When making a FOI request, the subject and date range of the information sought should be indicated as precisely as possible, and the request should be accompanied by the application fee, which may be waived in certain circumstances. The application fee under section 17 of the FOI Act is $30.60. Apart from the application fee, certain other charges such as search fees and photocopying charges might apply in relation to the provision of documents as stipulated in the Freedom of Information (Access Charges) Regulations 2014.
