AIMS

Are you ready for the largest ever Australian International Motor Show?

Tickets are available at www.motorshow.com.au and doors open at 6pm Friday 1 July.

Australian International Motor Show event director Russ Tyrie said the demand for space from exhibitors had exceeded the space available at the event's previous location, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

"Our exhibitors want more space; they're bringing more vehicles - and exciting vehicles too. The MCEC gives us enough room to be able to accommodate them - and to create the biggest and best show possible for visitors."

Lighting

New lighting technology an Australian first

GrandMA2 Ultralight, a versatile lighting console, has recently been installed in the plenary and grand banquet room of the MCEC.

This latest technology shortens programming time and can store default show files for each of the different rigs in the plenary. The MCEC's in-house technicians can use iPad's to control the desks and make programming changes remotely.

The MCEC is the first convention centre in Australia to use this technology which was supplied by Lightmoves.

Trivia Champions

Staff trivia night supports MCEC’s charities

On the 16 June over 50 MCEC staff enjoyed a night of trivia at Byblos bar + restaurant. Over $1000 was raised for the MCEC's charities, SecondBite and Hanover from registration fees and a silent auction.

We would like to thank Bella Inspirations, Byblos bar + restaurant, Eureka SkyDeck, Federation Square, Hilton Melbourne South Wharf, maze restaurant, the MCEC food and wine department, Museum Victoria and the National Trust of Victoria for their generous donations to the silent auction.
