MCEC launches innovative interactive centre guide

The next time you log on to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC)
website (www.mcec.com.au) you’ll be able to click on the new on-line interactive guide and
take a virtual tour of the new Melbourne Convention Centre.

This dynamic new on-line guide gives users the ability to embark on their own personal site
inspection in their own time by exploring the rooms and spaces of the new centre and the
entire MCEC complex.

Designed by award winning interactive agency Reactive, meeting and event planners can
actually examine the layout of the new centre and plan their next event with ease, viewing
floor layouts and room dimensions, set up capacities, locations, and audio visual and
communications features.

Visitors to the MCEC website will also be able to check out some of Victoria’s famous
landmarks and most popular tourist areas, and discover one of the world’s most liveable
cities with an on-line look around Melbourne’s fascinating CBD.

The new Melbourne Convention Centre will be the focus of the developing South Wharf
area in the heart of Melbourne city which will link Federation Square and Southbank to the
Docklands.

The precinct will include a new Hilton hotel, cafes, restaurants and retail shops.
By regularly visiting the MCEC website (www.mcec.com.au), you will be able to keep up-todate
with the latest news and information on this exciting new development in inner city
Melbourne.

About the new Melbourne Convention Centre

The new Melbourne Convention Centre, opening in 2009, will be one of the most
impressive architectural and environmentally sound buildings in Australia.

When fully integrated with the existing Melbourne Exhibition Centre, it will be the most
advanced exhibition and convention space in the southern hemisphere and one of the
world’s greenest.

The new centre has been awarded a ‘6 Star Green Star’ environmental rating by the Green
Building Council of Australia for its innovative environmental design and operational
features - the first in the world for a convention centre.
