The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust is currently formalising its Disability Action Plan, soon to be published on our website, which will include strategies and actions in the following four outcome areas:
a) reducing barriers to persons with a disability accessing goods, services and facilities;
b) reducing barriers to persons with a disability obtaining and maintaining employment;
c) promoting inclusion and participation in the community of persons with a disability; and
d) achieving tangible changes in attitudes and practices which discriminate against persons with a disability.
The Trust appreciates the importance of having a Disability Action Plan in place to promote positive outcomes for people with a disability and has been working for some time proactively to ensure that the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre provides an environment, both for visitors and staff, that is inclusive and addresses the needs of all users of our venues.
